Inspired by the beloved children’s show Sesame Street, Avenue Q creates a puppet-filled world that is a little more reflective of the difficult, R-rated realities that we face when we learn that real life isn’t as simple as we dreamed it might be – but perhaps, suggests Avenue Q, life is all the more colourful and worthwhile for it

**Note: despite featuring puppets, Avenue Q features adult topics, language, and an onstage portrayal of puppet sex. Cast must be 18 or have parental permission to audition.**

That’s right, puppets!

Avenue Q provides a unique experience for all involved, whether they are performing as a puppet character or interacting with the puppet characters; it’s a true collaborative ensemble piece of FUN musical theatre.

Never worked with puppets? please don’t be scared or put off from auditioning, – we encourage all interested to audition.

The entire rehearsal process will be an exciting & supportive atmosphere for all involved!

AUDITIONS for Avenue Q will be held on Friday 5th May (From 6pm onwards) and Sat 6th May (from 5pm onwards)

Auditionees should contact the Production Manager Liz on 0402 419 985

Performance Dates are: Friday 25th August, Sat 26th, Sunday 27th, Thurs 31st, Fri 1st Sep, Sat 2nd, Sun 3rd, Thurs 7th, Fri 8th, Sat 9th, Sun 10th. NB There may be a possibility of Charity Nights on both Wednesdays.

Auditions will be 10-15 mins in length. Online rehearsal tracks will be available once you contact Liz, but you can sing a song not from the show but must bring a track on a device (and a speaker just in case). There will be no preparation for the dialogue part of the audition…you will be given a part to read from the script at auditions.

Rehearsals will start with a meet & greet on Monday 15th May and will continue on Monday 22nd and Monday 29th. Further mid week rehearsals will be added later

The Avenue Q universe is an extremely heightened reality, resulting in most characters being quite over-the-top and surreal. Please take this into consideration when preparing for your audition.
