AUDITION INFORMATION
SYNOPSIS: Spamalot tells a highly irreverent parody of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail. Inspired by the classic
comedy film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical also diverts a bit from more traditional versions of the legend.
Instead, Spamalot features shenanigans including a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen, and killer rabbits.
Outside, there is plague with a 50% chance of pestilence and famine. Throughout the show, Arthur, traveling with his servant
Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Galahad, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot, and Sir
Bedevere. Besides the rabbits and farting Frenchman, they meet such characters as the Lady of the Lake, Prince Herbert,
Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.

(male identifying) and The Lady of the Lake (female identifying).
KING ARTHUR The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Round Table and find
the Holy Grail. Needs comedic timing and musical ability.
LADY OF THE LAKE A Diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. The leading lady of the show. Strong
singing voice is essential, as she must be able to sing effortlessly in many styles and vocal
registers.
PATSY King Arthur’s horse and servant. Under appreciated but always longing for King Arthur’s
approval. Must be able to whistle.
SIR LANCELOT A Knight of the Round Table. He is fearless to a bloody fault but through a twist of fate, does
discover his ‘softer side.’ Needs comedic timing.
SIR ROBIN A Knight of the Round Table. Ironically called “Sir Robin the Brave,” though he couldn’t be
more cowardly. Joins the Knights for the singing and dancing. Needs comedic timing and
musical ability.
SIR GALAHAD A Knight of the Round Table. Begins as Dennis, a lower class “mud gatherer” who is knighted
and transformed into the dashing Sir Galahad. Strong baritenor singing required.
PRINCE HERBERT The hopeful and frilly prince who loves to sing and pines for his love atop a tower.
NOT DEAD FRED A sickly little fellow who, despite others’ beliefs, claims he is “not yet dead.”
MAYOR A jolly mayor who advertises the merits of their home in Finland.
SIR BEDEVERE A Knight of the Round Table. A strangely flatulent, inept scholar.

MRS GALAHAD Mud gatherer and mother of Dennis.
