This Mystery-Farce is set in an old mansion – it’s spooky and it’s creepy.
We require 7 females and 6 males to brave it out for this outrageously funny situation with terrific pace and suspense. Chauncey and Lillums arrive at “Stone Mansion” (belonging to Chauncey’s aunt) for their honeymoon in an empty house – maybe. Strange and stranger people start appearing. Strange and stranger things start happening.
For audition pieces, and to book a time, please contact the Production Manager, Liz 0402419985
Characters:
Chauncey – early 20’s, Male, clean cut with a likable personality. He is extremely timid/unassuming and easily excitable with a slight stutter when he gets nervous (not to be overdone)
Lillums – early 20’s, Female, (Chauncey’s new bride) she has a lot of charm and poise with a much more assertive personality than Chauncy.
General Lee – any age, Male, he speaks with the utmost seriousness, army general.
Gridley – any age, Male, General Lee’s off-sider and ideally the complete opposite in appearance to the general.
Mata – any age, slim and slinky, Female, think “Femme Fatale” (or google it), portrays a spy trying to buy secrets.
Elizabeth – any age, Female, portrays herself from the Elizabethan times, (thinks she is the queen).
Mrs Mayhew – middle-age +, Female, a stern looking, hard lady with a forceful personality who runs the “establishment”.
Thomas – any age, Male, appears to be a sinister “Boris Karloff” type.
Karen – youngish, Female who is tense and very dramatic.
Joe – any age, Male, solid, mechanic type.
Alberta – middle-age +, Female (Chauncey’s Aunt) who has a vague, “out of this world” quality about her, compulsive talker.
Mrs Bundy – middle-age +, Female, gaunt “New England” type, close-mouthed and reticent.
Robinson – any age, Male, law enforcement figure.
N.B. Because of the pace and timing of the action, it is vital you are available for all rehearsals as much as possible, and Production Week beginning 15 March is compulsory.
